Trouble trying to download a (semi)large file.occurs in Firefox and IE?

I was trying to download a 50mb file(large to me due to dialup) and after hit hit the 10mbs downloaded part it says download complete????it took me quite some time to even download that much and it just cuts off?this was in firefox by the way.is there a erm... security feature or something that i need to turn off?

So then i decided to try in IE and sure enough right at the 10mb point it says download complete. This is where my security feature hypothesis was formulated.why would 2 different browsers both cut off at the same point? I've looked thru the download options on both browsers and found no luck. I'm using vista home premium btw.maybe the security feature has to do with vista?

Any help appreciated.

Clear your browser cache, and save the file to a different directory.

My computer keeps shutting down, it says there is a problem with IE..is there any way to fix it?

I had been playing on yahoo games, then I suddenly got booted, and I can't get back in, it says there is a problem with IE. I didn't do any thing or say anything wrong, how do I fix it? or do you?

My computer keeps shutting down, it says there is a problem with IE..is there any way to fix it?windows xp pro

Does a screen that says LSASS, with a 60 second countdown occurs? From IE...sounds like an LSASS virus...LSASS is a original Microsoft application..ususally used by virus programmers to shutdown systems...it is tricky to bypass such method because you have to work fast, through the command prompt to reprogram LSASS to shut down in 60 minutes...you do this fast, because when you power on, LSASS begans and tries to shut you down in 60 seconds...after you managed this tricky part, you have to download a removal tool from McAfee...not sure if STINGER does it...I have four years since graduation working in the IT field, now I specialize in security, and its a mess! My point, the LSASS tread typically is what shutdowns a machine...What would help would be more feedback, more descriptive things, the actual full event to get an understanding as to what is happening, therefore, to truely clarify if it is truely being caused by a virus..

My computer keeps shutting down, it says there is a problem with IE..is there any way to fix it?microsoft net framework internet explorer

- restart your computer.

- download free firefox browser from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ and use it instead of IE.

- if shut downs continue contact geek squad: http://www.geeksquad.com/
I used to get that all the time till I found firefox. It is the best browser I've ever tried. I downloaded it a year ago and haven't opened internet explorer one time since. Try it, you'll love it!!

http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
to fix this, download the latest IE. go to www.microsoft.com

but, yeah, firefox is one of the best browsers around. a lesser number of people are using it compared to IE, so less chances for exploits to be dealt with.k
Don't listen to Sasi. IExplorer is evil and it has more holes than swiss cheese at the wrong end of a shotgun fired 254 times. You want viruses, spyware, adware, popups? use Iexplorer. If not, use Firefox.

Is it illegal to buy designer shirts from out of the country, ie: lacoste, and sell in the US for a

I notice on EBAY that Lacoste polos are being sold way under retail value. These shirts retail for $72 and sell for anywhere upwards of $20. They are listed as authentic (ie: designed in France, made in Peru, etc)... so...I guess I want to know if these shirts are truly authentic and if so, is it illegal to buy in bulk at a cheap price (as low as $9 per shirt) and re-sell here in the States for much lower than retail while still making a profit? Does each state have different laws? I live in Florida. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is it illegal to buy designer shirts from out of the country, ie: lacoste, and sell in the US for a profit?microsoft flight simulator

those shirts are almost always fakes. buying designer brands

off ebay is hardly ever a good idea, even if the price is fairly high so you would think it's authentic. generally it is illegal to sell those shirts on ebay or elsewhere in the states. but hardly anybody cares

if you buy authentic designer brands, they will cost roughly the same anywhere in the world. it doesn't matter if you buy a louis vuitton bag in paris or vietnam, it will still cost more or less the same. that being said, as long as they are authentic, you should be legally able to re-sell them, but i doubt you'll make much profit that way

Is it illegal to buy designer shirts from out of the country, ie: lacoste, and sell in the US for a profit?windows 2000 internet explorer

If they are counterfeit it is. The word authentic only means they look like the legal ones. If you suspect bogus products are being sold on ebay, you should try and alert the company and ebay of this. Ebay does not check out everything sold on it. They can't, its too big.

Some companies sell their seconds (item that do not meet quality standards set by the mfgr.) to others. These are then sold in low cost stores like Dollar General, Family Dollar etc.. A company like Lacoste will not do this cause it damages their name and also cost them sales. Then they would have to lower their prices.

No, those you saw on ebay are probably counterfeit.

Here is the url of the ebay forum about detecting Lacoste fakes.
These are "surplus" of the original production, sold in the "black" market with original tags. Factories are allowed to legally sell this surplus only if they cut off the tags.

If you sell items with cut-off tags, I don't know if you could have as much profit...

Anyone having problems with ASP.NET 2.0 and certain versions of IE?

We recently upgraded our website from .NET 1.1 to .NET 2.0 and we are all of a sudden having some odd problems with certain versions of IE (we think we've narrowed it down to v2800).

For instance, when an AJAX call is made it will just "hang" for minutes at a time. We also get the same result with some very basic web controls like LinkButtons.

Has anyone else seen something similar to this or know what the problem may be? Upgrading browsers isn't an option because it's thousands of people and that would be pretty difficult.

sure sounds like it's the server config or your app.. check the logs, how long does it take to make a trivial ajax call. is there something you are doing different in the http headers? does 2800 introduce some different encoding?

Why is it AUSSUMED (falsly most like in most cases) a young (ie 20s) teacher and student over the age of concent or very close relationship is abuse of power or other claptrap.

Is it so unlikely and amazing a thought ... drum roll.

World news..

etc etc

That most people on this planet are not preditory, dont give a monkeys about power. Are not bullies.

And just happen to like each other and want to be specail freined as they fancy each other as well.

And will either stay togther maybe longer then many marraiges, fissle out or realise they aint suited and split up naturally like any other relationship?

Any no Im not a teacher but fail to see what anyones job be they a soldier, sailor or candlestick maker has to do with it.

Same applies to doctors, and patients, alien and warewolf, black and white whatever.

Plus if you think 16-19 year olds are all wimpy and innocnet you need to get out more.

And go see what they get up to in raves and parties.

Why is it AUSSUMED (falsly most like in most cases) a young (ie 20s) teacher and student relationship is abusemicrosoft live

I'm going out with someone who is nearly 5 years older then me and I'm in my teens and tbh its the best relationship I've had...but difference is my boyfriend doesnt have a profession which is to care for me and influence me in the world. Teachers are there to lead teens into a better way of life to guide them... this shows they need help and guidance and if they take advantage of that help then its wrong.

Why is it AUSSUMED (falsly most like in most cases) a young (ie 20s) teacher and student relationship is abusemicrosoft internet explorer internet explorer

let me guess....you don't have any children of your own and you're about 15?
Because its the LAW.

If they are that in love, they should have no problem waiting until the MINOR is NOT a minor any more.

Waiting takes maturity--if they can't wait, they aren't mature.
Because its wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It the same as any job. You don't date those who you teach. Whether it be a supervisor and associate or Teacher and student.
it is an abuse of the code of conduct, an abuse of a position of authority. if the relationship is that important the teacher / professional should change their job before consummating the relationship.
stop rambling, are you even a teacher and if so your desperate to date your student. it is seemed wrong because of the age gap and the fact that you are supposedly their guardian during school in a way its like dating your mum or something if she looked after you

wrong
wtf are you talking bout? ur just ******* rambling on about nothing you jackass.

look it's probably not abusive in the sense that your thinking of. but it abuses the code of conduct, and abuses her authority. also what happens if they break up that teacher could make the students life hell, or vice versa.
Because when a teacher becomes a teacher they take on responsibilities, one of which is the care of children. And having a sexual relationship with a child, ie under the age of eighteen is seen as an abuse of that responsibility.

Whether they fancy each other or not, the adult in the equation has to be the one to ensure it goes no further than a teacher/student relationship.
You know what, I did not read through all of your post. I think it's pretty obvious what you are getting at. Do you know that all tertiary education facilities prohibit student teacher relationships. Do you know why?

When one individual is in a position of power over the other, like a teacher and student or a boss and his secretary, there will be an inevitable overlap in the personal and profession relationship. That will inevitably lead to discord, resentment, and conflict. In such a relationship there can never be equality, and don't you think that when two people are in a relationship together they should be equals?

So here is the skinny on you and your younger man. If you love him, then you can wait until he is not your student, or going to your school, to have a relationship with him. If you don't love him, then you can do without him.

So please, stop bitching.
i think people see it as abuse of trust more than anything, parents send their children to school and expect them to be looked after and trust the teacher like an extension of family. if you can say that you would meet and start a relationship with a 16 yr old if they were not a pupil it's unlikely(when i say you...i don't actually mean you!)
well ...we can all tell your not a teacher by your spelling and if a person is 18 or over its their decision on what they do with their life and one younger than 18 still has parents to answer to and it is up to the parent /parents to protect their children .
For starters, a teacher's position to a student is one of power. Purposefully pursuing a student-- especially a minor-- from this position is the VERY DEFINITION of abuse.

Secondly, back to the point about the student being a minor: that would be called illegal.

As for 16-19 year olds being "whimpy". No, son, it's not all that. Wait till you grow up some, and you'll see just how very young 16-19 really is.
If you can't see how wrong this is - you are in the wrong job!

Thank God you don't teach my child.
How about this, drumroll, abuse of power. Suppose for the sake of your argument, teacher-student relationships were allowed, then the student does something teenage like, er I dont know, flirt, then the teacher lowers the grade because he/she is mad. Not going to happen you say, then either you are younger than you admit or are so naive you shouldnt be let out of the house without a guardian. Oh yeah one more thing if you are going to use a big word like assumed, spell it right at least once when you use it
Hmm raw nerve country here.

The simple fact is that teachers are given 'power' over students and are expected to use this wisely. They are, to a certain extent, moral guardians of the young and as much as you might want to analyse it and draw comparisons they have a role which is fairly unique - akin to that of parents.

The issue that people have with this is that if a teacher is looking romantically at a student then they may be swayed from guiding them down the path of what is best for them objectively.

There is also a concern that because they wield this authority that they could coerce the student who is 'young and impressionable' into something against their will or best interests - effectively 'leading them astray'.

Obviously I dont need to discuss the issues around doing this with under-age students.

The simple fact is that in modern society this relationship is seen as fundamentally wrong and an abuse of position, power and trust and as long as parents exist in the world I think it unlikely to change.
I DON'T think that there is anything wrong with someone having a relationship in theri early- late 20's with someone who is of a responsible age. THE PROBLEM with theacher-student relations, is that the teacher is in a position of authority, so when they get into a relationship with a student, it becomes an ethics violation. Not to mention, a conflict of interest.

Don't know of any program can do that --keep bookmark/favorites in sync. But it's not hard to do it yourself, just open the browser and on the Toolbar choose Bookmarks and you can import or export bookmark to the browser you want. Of course you have to do quite often if you keep adding bookmarks but that's the only way i know. Check the Firefox extensions page, someone may have written an extension just to do that.

You can import the bookmarks directly from the browser. For instance, if you wanna import boomarks to Firefox from IE, open up Firefox and click on File %26gt; Import %26gt;

Then select the browser you want to import from (IE in this case) and the rest of it is self explanatory.

Do white American women date men of Indian hertiage (ie India Indian)?

I am an upstanding articulate individual of Indian heritage whom was brought up in a cosmopoltian enviroment.I have excellent command of the english language since I was brought up in a through English enivorment and I have been on more than one ocassion told by several women that I am very good looking and that they love my complexion ie brown skin. However of late I came across a women whom belives that all Indian men think that housekeeping is a woman's job(just keep reading) and that she would not want to date an Indian because of that opinion which she got from another person??but she does the housekeeping at her place because SHE wants to ahem!

My question to ALL you women of America please since I am single ready to mingle and possibly settle down or up (depending how much in love I will be in)give me guidance on this and that whom is right or wrong?Should I ask American women out?The reason I refer to American women is because when I go out whom will I meet?

um, I don't know what that other girl's problem is but I am actually more attracted to Indian men than white men. (yes I am a white american) YES ask american women out, if they're smart they will love your skin and your eyes and just you for you.
Of course they do. Some people focus on race but many do not. And hey Naveen Andrews on the show Lost is a heart throb and he is Indian. In fact I think that many women would find your manners, charm and values endearing. Just please for the love of God when you take her for Indian food the first time order something mild like Butter Chicken. LOL Americans as a rule aren't use to the heat of Indian food!
if you spark it in her it dosent matter if ur an indian or an alien.

i know this coz i am an alien from outer space lol

no serious
Go for it.

One of the great things about America (and trust me, America has lots of faults) is that more and more, race matters less and less.

I think interracial relationships and marriages are far more common and accepted in America than in most countries.

Yes, it depends on which part of America and who you talk to.

I'm sure there are some white women who only date white men.

But in this day and age, especially in America's cosmopolitan cities, it is extremely common to have relationships between whites and Indians, whites and Asians, whites and Blacks, whites and Hispanics, and everything else in between.

I am a white American male who happens to be very attracted to Indian females (its not a fetish or anything, I just happen to think that, on the whole, they are very attractive). However when I went to India I got the sense that Indian women there were not interested in white men. However, here in America, it is totally accepted and common. I think the same goes for white women and Indian men. No reason why it couldn't work. Go for it, dude!

http://www.tripadvisor.com is very informative for all types of questions , they have forums there you can join that have local experts dedicated to every question you may have, and http://www.cancun.com will give you alot of info on hotels, tours etc, transportation ....well the island is the shape of a 7 , local buses are every few minutes so you won't need a car, and for tours or trips to Playa Del Carmen etc, From the Hotel Zone take the #1 bus and ask the driver to drop you off at the bus station. The bus station is across the street from the bus stop. At the station there's a special line for Playa del Carmen (clearly marked). Just go straight there and purchase one way tickets. The last ADO bus back to Cancun from Playa is at midnight. The fare is $3.40 USD one way. In Playa the bus station is right at the beginning of Avenida 5, the main drag.

Is sending private key encrypted emails illegal in the state of california? IE: will the feds come knockin?microsoft publisher

It's not a state issue -- California does not (that I can find) have any laws that prohibit encryption.

There are federal laws on the subject -- but many of them are in an ambiguous state, given that voluntary use of encryption falls within 1st Amendment protections -- and electronic communications fall within 4th Amendment protections (theoretically - but check back tomorrow and the day after that).

So, there is very little likelihood of prosecution just for using voluntary encryption -- but if your communications are overseas, all that can change without notice.

Sounds like your Internet Explorer is corrupted,I suggest a repair of the program files.

This is quite easy and there are two ways to go about it.

Method 1: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP

From the Start menu, select Run.

In the Open field, type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow)

Select the OK button.

Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.

Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.

Method 2: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x Repair for Windows XP

From the Start menu, select Search, select All Files and Folders.

Select More Advanced Options and place a checkmark beside Search Hidden Files and Folders option.

Ensure that Search System Folders and Search Subfolders are also checked.

In the All or Part of the File Name box, type ie.inf

In the Look In drop-down menu, select C: or the letter of the hard drive that contains the Windows folder.

Click the Search button.

In the search results pane, find the ie.inf file located in Windows\Inf folder.

Right click the ie.inf file and click Install on the context menu.

Reboot the computer when the file copy process is complete.

That should fix your problem.

If by chance the file was made using Unicode, Firefox will not load the page and template properly. Try validating both the HTML and CSS file using Direct Input or URL to see if by per chance there are some non-standard characters.

You could also verify that both FF and IE are viewing your site using the same character encoding.

I dont think its Reaction end Point as that seems to infer other means of ending the reaction, ie temperature but I might be wrong there.

What is the correct term for a reaction which is fully complete ie used up all precursor material?windows mobile 6

Good question, I'm not actually sure which term you would use in that situation, you say something has reached a steady state when it reaches the equilibrium point but if you've actually used up all your reactants it seems like that should have a different name. Reaction end point is also used to say the reaction has reached completion and perhaps that is more accurate in this case.

What is the correct term for a reaction which is fully complete ie used up all precursor material?microsoft office 2003 internet explorer

Its called an irreversible reaction. End point is a term used in titration.
ouch !! my brain !!
Possibly equillibrium....... Theoretically any reaction should be reversible.

I can connect to AIM and Ares but not Firefox, AOL or IE. WTF?

This is quite odd. I recently moved my computer desk and had to dissconnect all the wires. But now that I plugged my internet connection back in ... none of my web browsers will work. AIM will connect and so will Ares. But Firefox, AOL, IE and Winamp all sit there with the loading notification continuously going. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Also ... I have a router which connects two computers to the internet. I've unplugged the connection to my computer plenty of times and had no problem after plugging it back in. But this time I also had to unplug my connection from the router... I'm guessing something happened there? I've never unplugged the wire from my router. And now that I did ... I'm having problems....

Most medical electronics engineering grads will end up in biomedical engineering departments working on blood glucometers, blood gas measurement, radiology devices, electromechanical hospital beds, urine separators and so forth.

Demand is high, so job availability will remain high. However the payscale tends to be mediocre until you get into management.

It is because your hard drive is full. Try un-installing some programs that you don't use and clean out your cache and other temporary files. Open up My Computer right click on your C: drive click Properties and click on the disk cleanup button. That should give you some more space. Also delete any pictures/music/video that you have saved that you don't use any more. Oh and don't forget to right click on your recycle bin and click empty. Just because you send something to your recycle bin doesn't mean that it is deleted, it is just in the recycle bin until you actually right click and click empty recycle bin.

You can import the bookmarks directly from the browser. For instance, if you wanna import boomarks to Firefox from IE, open up Firefox and click on File %26gt; Import %26gt;

Then select the browser you want to import from (IE in this case) and the rest of it is self explanatory.

Yes-you can catch crabs (pubic lice) from bedding, clothing, towels etc... he'll need to get to the doctors and get treated,so will your friend and they'll have to wash the bedding etc on a hot wash.

It's quite common to catch this from hotels that don't have the best hygiene standards!!

Is it possible to pick up intimite nasties from linen in hotels? ie to make down below itch??nintendo ds browser internet explorer

unless he is allergic to something then no, it is not possible unless he got into a bed as someone else got out because the bugs die quite quickly
Bed Bugs are a problem, especially in North America right now. They are transferred very easily.

You can basically take them home with you, if you have had your suitcase of clothes on the bed if it is infected with bed bugs. And they can certainly get humans into a very itchy state. Whether or not they would only go for intimate areas I couldn't tell - but most bugs tend to go for warm areas - so make what you want of that!

It could be innocent, who knows? Get her to check the bed and clothes out for bed bug faecaes - they are tiny bits of dried blood (just like flea droppings from your animals).
Yes. It is possible. See the doctor - they'll explain better and more specific to the individual - as well as being able to treat it.
You cannot get 'intimate nasties' from hotel linens. only from other people.

she could be allergic to the detergent they use

if there is so much concern go to a doctor.
perhaps he,s got crabs from going with dirty ooers, sit him on the naughty step for a couple of weeks after she has been with him to see the doctor.
You can catch scabies from bed linen, The mite burrows into the skin, especially around the hands, feet, and male genitalia. It does not usually affect the neck and head, although it may in infants.

The itching is due to an allergic reaction to the tiny mites, and is associated with a rash of red, raised spots. The itch is worse at night, and may often affect more than one family member. It is catching. Get him to see a dr
It is possible, but unlikely. Most "bugs" die very quickly away from the host. He was probably playin. She should avoid contact with him until he is seen by a doctor and the "all clear" is given. She should also be "checked out" by her doctor just in case the "bugs" jumped on to her. They can be transferred by close contact although this is unlikely. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
could be bed bugs..scabies.. lice...crabs .. y'all get to the doctor them call the hotel and tell em . They may have to treat that hotel so others don't get whatever it is.. sounds like bugs

Ghost is not for spying, it is for duplicating the contents of your computers hard drive and BIOS information.

Just what are you trying to supervise, there are many parental control software packages out there.
Creates full backups of your PCs contents

It's a back up utility

http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/...

If you want superversion software you may want to try net nanny
No. You cannot spy with it. Although you could be a spy with it. You see, Ghost will create an image of a hard drive. This image is a file which is an exact clone of the drive. This is used mainly in large network environments where one harddrive can be copied to several hundred. It can also be useful as a backup utility because only the "ghost image" needs to be copied to the harddrive. This will ruin anything on the harddrive though.

As I said at first though, if you wanted to do some industrial espionage you could clone your bosses servers.
No, you can't use it for spying on your kids' computer usage. It is a cloning software that you can use to restore a damaged or unbootable system or Windows.

You could look in history folder to see what sites have been looked at, as a low-tech measure. 12 year olds or younger should not be allowed to use the net unsupervised. If the PC is in your kids' room take it out of their room and put it in the entertainment or family room or even your library if you have one. Put it where you can see it...or....

If you have another PC on the same home network then install something like Radmin that will let you control another PC from a remote location, this will also let you view the other PC's desktop from another computer %26amp; if you set the settings for the taskbar icon to be always hidden she will not know it's there as it runs in the background.

If people have to spy on their own kids it's no wonder they feel they have to lie to their parents. IMO anyone who lets their 12-yr old have unregulated access to the net in their own bedroom needs to consider what they are exposing their children to.

When smaller kids or teenagers are off the road and back at home, chances are they'll head straight for the computer. Monitoring and key-logging software, like these products, allow parents to watch and record whatever their kids are viewing online.

SearchHelp

What it does: While the kids are online, parents can monitor every click of their mouse from another computer. The software can remotely lock the computer, automatically shut down instant messaging sessions if inappropriate language is used, open or close a browser or change the Web site they're viewing. It doesn't filter sites, but it lets parents watch whatever their kids are doing online as they're doing it. Stealth factor: They claim the only way your kid will know this is installed on his computer is if you tell him. What you need: The software is only compatible with Windows 2000 and XP. How to get it:

Order it at www.searchhelp.com. Cost: $79.95. It can be programmed to monitor up to two computers.

Specter Pro 5.0

What it does: This keylogging software records everything the teen is doing on the computer, such as e-mails and instant messages - and not just their side - it gets the entire conversation. E-mails and instant messages can be immediately forwarded to the parent. It also takes snapshots of the screen as often as once per second, and parents can later play those screen shots back in a video format. It also can block certain Web sites, but instead of a screen popping up saying this Web site is blocked, it's programmed to make it appear that the site just isn't available right then. Stealth factor: Since no icons appear once this software has been downloaded to your computer, it can be installed without the kids knowing. What you need: It works with anything above Windows 98. How to get it: Order the software at www.spectersoft.com. Cost: $99.95

SpyBuddy

What it does: Also keylogging software, it records every keystroke, including both sides of IM (instant message) conversations, e-mails and any changes made to the hard drive. Users also can set up an account on a ViewMyLogs.com account, allowing them to access activity reports from anywhere at any time of the day. Stealth factor: This software can also be secretly installed. What you need: It works with any Windows system. How to get it: Order it at exploreanywhere.com.

Cost: $69.99 for the SpyBuddy software, and $10 a month for an account on ViewMyLogs.com.

Cyber Patrol 7.5

What it does: It records where kids are going online, when they're there and how long they stay. If they're supposed to be doing homework from 3 to 5 p.m., parents can block chat or online games at that time.

And chat and instant-messaging systems can prohibit kids from giving away information such as names, addresses or phone numbers. It also can block program downloads. Stealth factor: The program features a "stealth option," so kids won't know they're being monitored. What you need: The software only runs on Window. How to get it: Order it at www.cyberpatrol.com. Cost: $39.95 for a 12-month license.

Was Jesus the eldest or youngest of his brothers (ie Joseph/Mary's other sons)?

Was Jesus the eldest or youngest of his brothers (ie Joseph/Mary's other sons)?

If I'm mistaken about him having 'brothers' then please tell me where my misconception may have arisen - as in where I might have got this idea that Joseph and Mary had other sons.

Was Jesus the eldest or youngest of his brothers (ie Joseph/Mary's other sons)?windows 95

Yes, Jesus is the oldest among the children of Joseph and Mary. It was written in the new testament that Jesus have brothers and sisters.

Was Jesus the eldest or youngest of his brothers (ie Joseph/Mary's other sons)?download ie internet explorer

Even if you hold the position that Jesus had actual siblings (I don't), they couldn't have been older. Because then Jesus would have been born to a non-virgin.
He sure didn't have any older siblings by Joseph and Mary!
He was the eldest. They were engaged when he was born.
I don't know if He had siblings or not...but...He was born of a virgin. I'm sure that you can figure it out from there.
He was the eldest because Mary was a virgin when Christ was born.
Jesus was the eldest brother in a family of at least 5 boys and 2 girls.

The names of Jesus four younger brothers are listed in Matthew 13:55 and 56.

We know Jesus had at least 2 sisters, but the Bible does not tell us how many sisters.

Pastor Art
he was the first child
i think it says somewhere in the New Testament that Jesus had siblings. but it only gets as specific as brothers and sisters. i think it was when he was on the cross. somewhere in there. but don't take my word for it cause i'm not sure. but other then that he has siblings we don't know.
He was the oldest. His brothers names were James, Joseph, Judas and Simon. In Hebrew: Ya'aqob, Yahuda, Yoseph and Shimon. Of course Jesus' names was Yeshua.
Some believe that Joseph was a widower, so he may have had some older step-siblings. Whatever you believe, though, he could not have any biological siblings older than himself as Mary and Joseph were only betrothed when he was conceived.
Jesus was the only son born of Mary, she was a virgin.

Those referred to as brothers %26amp; sisters may have been kin.

It's possible that Joseph had other previous wives.

They may also have been cousins, Jews did not distinguish.
He was the eldest. He was born of a virgin, but Mary did not remain one. She and Joseph had normal relations and had at least four other sons and two daughters. The Bible named four brothers and mentioned sisters, meaning at least two. Since there is no mention of Joseph during the ministry of Jesus, there is a good possibility he had died before then.
According to the Gospels, Jesus was the oldest. As to the debate over only child/many children, the Catholic-Lutheran Consultation on Union commissioned a group of Catholic, Lutheran, non-Lutheran Protestant and Orthodox theologians to prepare a joint document on Mary in the New Testament. One of the questions was the siblings question. The conclusion was that scripture is actually silent on the question. Certain passages are nonsensical if Jesus had siblings, yet other passages only make sense if he did. Because the Hebrew and Greek used for brothers also referred to cousins and could even be used for non-relatives in some circumstances, being called a brother could actually mean Mary's or Joseph's siblings' children.

At best, the New Testament is inconsistent. However, if you venture outside the NT to early Christian writings, there are no siblings. The closest is James the Brother of the Lord, who does not appear to be a child of Mary.
I believe that Jesus was the oldest child of Mary and Joseph. I know that Catholics teach that Jesus's siblings were his half brothers and sisters from a prior marriage of Joseph's, but I've never seen that in the Bible. I don't believe Mary and Joseph lived together without intercourse after Jesus birth, but the Catholics do.
Matthew 13:53 - 57 (NIV) 53When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. 54Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. 55“Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” 57And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor.”
Jesus was the oldest of Mary's sons. And then Mary and Joseph biologically had other children. Including James. I dont know the rest...but one of his brother's was James. Jesus was the oldest.
Jesus was the eldest of his siblings. Jesus’ brothers are mentioned in several Bible verses. Matthew 12:46, Luke 8:19, and Mark 3:31 say that Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him. The Bible tells us that Jesus had four brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). The Bible also tells us that Jesus had sisters, but they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:56). In John 7:1-10, His brothers go on to the festival while Jesus stays behind. In Acts 1:14, His brothers and mother are described as praying with the disciples. Later, in Galatians 1:19, it mentions that James was Jesus’ brother. The most natural conclusion of these passages is to interpret that Jesus had actual blood siblings.
Jesus was the son of Mary, a virgin; his father is/was God the Father who caused her to be "with child" by the Holy Spirit so, Joseph was, actually, a step-father to Jesus. After Jesus' birth Joseph and Mary had other children - see Bible Book of Matthew chapter 13 verse 55 (link below). This is, also, in the Gospel of Mark. James and Jude were Jesus' step-brothers.
In order for mary to have been a "virgin" then jesus had to have been the first born.

yes there is a verse in the bible that mentions jesus's brothers and names them - Simon, Jose, and James (the ones I can remember).

as for them being step siblings (thats a laugh) - the bible does not identify them as step brothers - only as brothers. Step brothers will imply that one of the parents had been previously married. So if it wasnt mary (cos she had to be a virgin) - then it must be joseph. Again the bible makes NO mention of joseph being a widower (the only way he could have legally been remarried - there was no divorce in those days).

You gotta think about this LOGICALLY.

Christians all believe that the Bible is LITERALLY true. And they beleive that the bible cannot be added to. So the word step-brothers has NOT been added to the bible - why not? because it was not true.
Jesus was the eldest. because if he was younger mary wouldn't be a virgin when he was born
Catholic and Orthodox Christians believe Mary was ever-virgin and that Jesus did not have biological siblings. Nowhere in the Bible is Mary identified as being the mother of anyone other than Jesus, nor is anyone other than Jesus identified as being her child. Protestants point to Matthew 13:55, but it doesn't say those brothers are the biological children of Mary. Furthermore, according to this same verse, Jesus is the son of Joseph. Protestants don't take that to mean he is the biological father of Jesus, so for them to see this verse as proof the brothers are biological brothers is illogical. I myself have brothers that are not the biological children of my mother.

“Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?” (Matthew 13:55)

Jesus’ Family—Who Were They?

IN MANY parts of the world, during December you often see scenes of the infant Jesus in the tender care of his mother, Mary, and his adoptive father, Joseph. Such family scenes may attract even those who do not profess to be Christians. Since the focus is on Jesus, what do the Scriptures tell us about Jesus’ human family?

Jesus had a most interesting family background. He was born to a virgin named Mary, thus becoming a member of the human family. According to the Bible, his life was transferred from heaven to Mary’s womb through holy spirit. (Luke 1:30-35) Before the miraculous conception of Jesus was announced, Mary had become engaged to a man named Joseph, who was thus to become Jesus’ adoptive father.

After Jesus’ birth, Joseph and Mary had other children, Jesus’ half brothers and sisters. That is evident from the question inhabitants of Nazareth later asked about Jesus: “Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us?” (Matthew 1:25; 13:55,?56; Mark 6:3) We can conclude from this that Jesus’ immediate family consisted of his parents, four brothers, and at least two sisters.

However, some today do not believe that Jesus’ brothers and sisters were children of Joseph and Mary. Why? “The Church,” says the New Catholic Encyclopedia, “from its earliest days taught that Mary was always a virgin. In view of this, then, there can be no doubt that Mary did not have any other children.” The same reference work claims that the words “brother” and “sister” can refer to “some one or ones united in a religious or other common bond” or to relatives, perhaps cousins.

Is that really the case? Even some Catholic theologians, disagreeing with the traditional doctrine, support the view that Jesus had fleshly brothers and sisters. John P. Meier, former president of the Catholic Bible Association of America, wrote: “In the N[ew] T[estament] adelphos [brother], when used not merely figuratively or metaphorically but rather to designate some sort of physical or legal relationship, means only full or half-brother, and nothing else.” Yes, the Scriptures indicate that Jesus had brothers and sisters who were born to Joseph and Mary.

The Gospels mention other relatives of Jesus, but let us now focus on Jesus’ immediate family and see what we can learn from them.
No real evidence that he ever existed. Certainly wasn't born of a virgin called Mary even if he did.

Maybe it would be a good idea to read a science book instead.

How can I get 3G (in USA) on my unlocked Nokia N80 IE?

IBefore purchasing the N80 from eBay, I went into a local Cingular store and asked whether the phone would work with their 3G service. The lady there said that it would, as long as it is a quad-band phone. I went in there, having purchased the phone and the person working there told me it wouldn't because Cingular USA and European providers work on different bands for 3G. Obviously I was annoyed.

Can anyone please tell me whether there is a way for me to get 3G service for my Nokia N80 IE?

How do you open a word/txt doc by itself from IE?

I know how to create a link using HTML that would enable me to open a word or text document that resides on my hard drive. (using the target as _blank). However when I click the link to open the doc, I get a dialogue box asking me if I want to "open"/"save"/"cancel". When I click "open", it will successfully open the doc in a IE window, and thats the problem. I need some experts here to tell me how I can use HTML or javascript so the word doc DOES NOT open in a IE window, and also if there is a way to avoid the dialogue box asking me if I want to open, save or cancel.

When your server sends out the requested MS-Word doc, it sends a header along with it to indicate the type of file that the web server believes it to be.

Most web servers are configured to send a .doc with the header:

Content-type: application/msword

If you end up seeing the MS-Word document inside of IE, the problem is not with your webserver but with your *client* (in this case, IE itself). IE has been configured to accept the above content-type and has been told (by you or MS or your IT peoples) that IE can render the document itself.

See the URL below as an attempt to describe what is going on. But the answer is simply to modify IE's setting. I'm not an IE guru, but I believe the setting you want to change or disable is in:

Tools -%26gt; Internet Options -%26gt; Programs -%26gt; Manage Add-ons...

Hopefully, if this is the wrong place, someone will correct me.

How do you open a word/txt doc by itself from IE?download windows media player internet explorer

jsut change the format of the doc to html
You can link to a text file the same way you link to html files, you must be sharing files with the internet in order for the link to work. Internet Explorer won't open word files, they have to be saved as .txt or .html
There is no way to prevent this behavior with HTML. The web client (Internet Explorer in this case) is programmed to do what you see: give you an option and carry it out.

Can U falsify(prove false) a tautology or a self-evident proposition(ie axiom)? What kind of propositions can?windows messenger

A tautology is a statement that is true by definition. More precisely, it is a statement in which the subect and the predicate contain the same information. e.g. "A bachelor is an unmarried man."

It makes no sense to speak of proving a tautology false.

Disproving an axiom doesn't make sense either: accepting axioms like the law of contradiction (A and not A is always false) are preconditions for proving anything at all.

HOWEVER, one can prove that an axiom is unnecessary, and should therefore be either discarded or treated as one of a number of alternative axioms.

A good example of the latter would be the fate of the parallel postulate--an axiom of geometry that states that two parallel lines have no points in common.

This axiom was regarded as a necessary truth from the time of Euclid to the nineteenth century. Then some prominent mathematician (I forget his name) tried to create a geometry in which which parallel lines always meet at two points.

To the surprise of those who thought that Euclid's geometry represented necessary truths, this new geometry proved to be consistent. In fact, assuming that parallel lines meet at two points produces the geometry of the surface of a sphere, rather than a Euclidian plane. The "lines" on the sphere are great circles, or circumfrences, which always meet at two points.

Other geometries have been developed too.

Can U falsify(prove false) a tautology or a self-evident proposition(ie axiom)? What kind of propositions can?microsoft works internet explorer

Obviously, one can not falsify a tautology as such. One might falsify a proposition that had been mistakenly thought to be a tautology, though.

This could happen through the discovery of an unexpected ambiguity in the terms of the initial statement.

Example: "Atoms can't be divided."

On one level, this is a tautology. "Indivisible" is the literal meaning of the Greek word "atom". Indivisibles are indivisible. What could be more tautological than that?

But what could have been more convincingly falsified?

The way out of confusion here is to see that there is a important distinction (unknown to the Greeks, and still unknown to those who first developed atom-based chemistry in the modern era) between chemical division and physical division.

Atoms are the smallest units of chemistry. By definition, they can't be divided further by chemical means or into "chemical" units. But they can be physical "split" as the death count at Hiroshima testifies.

What is the correct term for a reaction which is fully complete ie used up all precursor material?

I dont think its Reaction end Point as that seems to infer other means of ending the reaction, ie temperature but I might be wrong there.

What is the correct term for a reaction which is fully complete ie used up all precursor material?windows mobile 6

Good question, I'm not actually sure which term you would use in that situation, you say something has reached a steady state when it reaches the equilibrium point but if you've actually used up all your reactants it seems like that should have a different name. Reaction end point is also used to say the reaction has reached completion and perhaps that is more accurate in this case.

Hi, I had the exact same problem before. It isn't firefox fault I would say.

First thing I would do is reinstall Flash Player. You most likley have a different Flash Player version:

Be sure you have the latest firefox as well.

That fixed my problem when I used to have that issue. Good Luck

Firefox runs flash slow, but it's fine on IE, any solution?microsoft word download internet explorer

Get rid of Firefox and put back IE
that's normal. firefox also loads web pages slow
Try using Opera.

I've always been a big IE fan, but I gave Firefox the try after pressure from the tech community about all the flaws in IE (which, I don't encounter, mainly because I only go to three-four websites which *are* safe, and I don't do random browsing)

Anyway, it ate up too many resources. It leaks memory alot, and you can't leave the system running or you'll come back and Fire will have taken up 90% of your memory. Flash runs slow, the XML and such are not up to par...

That, and being an IE fan I can point to quiet a few websites that point at all the FireFox holes that everyone claims dont' exist.

*However* I tried Opera the other day - I read a CNET article about how it's the only one that's actually delivering everything it promises, and it got # 1 out of all other browsers, with a saying of "Too sad it's not as popular because they don't advertise their software"

And you know? It was fast, it's pretty secure from what I've read, or better than Firefox anyway. I haven't had any issues, and I'm thinking of switching to it isntead of using IE 7 for a while
Firefox is just about the slowest browser on the face of the earth. Read here:

If bison, oxen, etc have male and females, ie. cows and bulls, what animal speciese are those things

Cattle is collective, and bovine is the genus and includes ox, bison etc. Cow is the female so what is the animal, ie - Cat has a tom and a queen, sheep has a yew and ram, canine has a dog and *****.

If bison, oxen, etc have male and females, ie. cows and bulls, what animal speciese are those things we milk?

Oxen are actually castrated males, so there are no female oxen.

The things we milk are "bos taurus" in Latin. In English they are known collectively as "cattle" and "cows." As a collective noun, "cows" does not necessarily mean females, but includes males as well, just as "geese" includes ganders, and "men" includes women in English.

After all, "cowboys" probably handle more steers (castrated males) than intact males or females, but they do handle all ages and genders.

A member of the species "bos taurus" whose sex is unknown can also be referred to as a cow. I include a link to a "cow printout" which specifies that only female cows have udders, and that females are called cows and males are called bulls.

If bison, oxen, etc have male and females, ie. cows and bulls, what animal speciese are those things we milk?uninstall internet explorer internet explorerExactly. We are not asking about gender names. Horses have mares, stallions, geldings... and so on... I have asked the same question. Cattle is not the answer. The latin name isn't the answer. This seems to be a nameless animal. Report It

Female domestic cattle - cows

Female goats - nannies

Female sheep - ewes

Is that what you mean?
the fridge?
We milk mammals as they are the animals that produce milk.
Rattlesnakes.
Good question, and I think the answer is "cattle" but that's only an educated guess - let's see what others say

You might have a corrupt file in your Yahoo! Messenger directory. To fix the problem, you must manually delete the Messenger directory on your C: drive (default), then reinstall the Yahoo! Messenger application.

To delete the directory:

Close the Yahoo! Messenger application if you currently have it running. Make sure all instances of Internet Explorer are closed.

Go to your desktop and double-click "My Computer."

Click the "C:" drive.

Go to:

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!

Highlight the Yahoo! Messenger folder and press the Delete key on your keyboard. (All archives will be deleted if they are not copied. Please see below.)

To install:

Close all running applications except for your Internet browser.

Visit the Yahoo! Messenger home page.

Click the "Download Now" button.

To copy your complete Message Archive:

Close Yahoo! Messenger (if it is currently running).

Go to your Desktop and double-click "My Computer."

Select the "C:" drive.

Go to:

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles.

Your "Profiles" folder contains your complete Message Archive. Copy it to the same location on another computer if you wish to view it elsewhere.

Note: If you copy this folder to another computer, your complete Message Archive will be copied, overriding the Message Archive on the computer to which you are copying. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng...

When I try to YahooIM I get an IE scripts error stating "not enough storage available to complete operation"ie tab internet explorer

It really depends on the code. I will suggest, however, that you optimize your site for Firefox instead of IE, since Firefox reads the code more strictly than IE and interprets it precisely.

It sounds like the font is rendering larger in Firefox than in IE. Make sure you have declared the font size and make it such that it's small enough to fit in Firefox. Or make your layout a "flexible" one that stretches.

Oh nothing to do with us thats just culture.

Exaplin then shariah law and how these nasty things occur in loads of islamic countires wherever the muslims take control and introduce their evil britual %26amp; abusive sharia law to control everybodies lives over the sexaulity, how they live, look, behave everything where kids are brainwashed with the idea that you

Must submit to allah, must never question shariah, it does not matter if you think its wrong its gods will etc.

Hence said culture is infact islam itself as you get the same thing in countiry after country under islamic control.

Apparently, you have no idea what you're talking about. You are a simple robot of the media. Accept everything they program you to believe. Go hop on a plane and visit a real muslim country.
who said stoning is from culture? its an islamic law for a person who had married and commited adultry,
They say they do not condone these actions, then say Sharia law should be the only law, Oxymoron emphasis on the latter two syllables.

Edit: aali_and_harith, actually Muslims make the laws of engagement up as they go, when Muhhamad brought War and death to Mecca and Jerusalem Islam struck first not the other way around. Muhhamad told people to Lie and use any strategem of War they could to decieve and defeat their enemys. These where citys that had not known war in a hundred years prior to the birth of Islam, there has been war in those lands ever since...

I do not get my sources from CNN, I get them from your Hadith.

If I wanted I could show you some websites, and other sources that show video footage and pictures of acts performed in Allah's name, but that will result in instant account deletion.
They say that because they think denial is a river in Egypt.
Scary, scary religion. When I think of it metaphorically, I think of a woman in a burqa locked in a small cage.

.
The Muslim religion is probably the most violent and unforgiving religion being practiced today.
It's amazing to read questions like this and even more enlightening to read the answers. You get your so-called information from CNN and the rest of our wonderful media. Why don't you go and research this fact if it's something you really wanna know? You won't find much here on the R%26amp;S except trash.

I'll tell you the truth though regarding the issue: Stoning is part of islam in cases of adultry. However, stringent conditions must be met before one can be found guilty. (i believe this was addressed recently in another answer) So yes, it does happen. Now, if those criteria are ignored and the person is stoned - then that IS the govt or perhaps culture taking control over the situation. Of course, WE'VE never ignored the rules of engagement have we?!
Islamic countries follow Islamic Laws and your countries follow Secular laws instead of Religious Laws. I think you are in trouble by not folloing your religious Commandments.

Islam not only preach righteousness but also impose shareah to protect the society from evil deeds.

Stonning is not a culture. It is legal action against adultery ( for both man %26amp; woman ) since our society cannot accept increase in this great sin.

Your problem is that you are deeply involved in this satanic and evil deed therefore you raise finger against Islam.

you want us to bread an army of Bastered in the society like yous but we cannot approve this evil deed highly disapproved by all prophets of God.

Do you know as to why your countries do not follow Religious Laws %26amp; Commandments??

Await your fair answer. Thanks.
Muslim countries live in the stone age and very badly need to bring themselves into the 21 century.

Muslim sharia law is BARBARIC, BRUTAL, EVIL, and an INSULT to the human race. Also: only INFEDELS uphold it and believe in it.

And if their god allah was anything like the muslims claim he is, he wouldn't need a half baked, prehistoric country like sudan to imprison a school teacher over the desireings of their off spring wanting to call a teddy mohammad.
Question is very breif. please elaborate.
