Yahoo Music Launchcast no sound, emptied IE cache & tested Windows Media Player, what now?

Yahoo Messenger has sound for IMs and for audibles. Windows Media Player plays music fine. Emptied Internet Explorer cache. Have Windows Media Player 11 and IE 7. Can play MP3 music with Winamp too. Tried volume control on bottom of launchcast plugin. Plugin shows song name and counts time, ad counts time too, just don't hear ANYTHING!! from Launchcast. OMG this is driving me nuts! Any ideas??

The things you did are good, and they sometimes fix the problem you are experiencing.

The next thing you should try is to actually reinstall Windows Media Player. More often than not, this seems to fix the "no sound" problem in Launchcast when you are getting sound from other sources. Go to the Microsoft WMP web site to get the download link.

(new) I just read your additional info. Good work on tracking down the problem to your anti-virus, and thank you very much for posting the update. I will add that to my bag of tricks when I try to help out people with a similar problem.
