Why this drop-down menu (css/javascript) doesn't work in IE?

This drop down menu won't work in IE; only in Firefox. Why? I can't seem to figure it out. If you all you have time, just go look at the source of the html, css, and javascript and tell me how to make it work in both IE and FireFox? Thanks!

How Do I Delete Firefox and Again Make IE My Main Browser?

I had Firefox for a few days, but it's inability to speedily download photos (because it lacks Active X) has me wanting to go back to Internet Explorer.

I can bring up IE for any individual site,but can't seem to again make it my primary browser

How Do I Delete Firefox and Again Make IE My Main Browser?windows themes

To change IE into your default browser, you'll have to:

(1) Launch IE

(2) Go to 'Tools' in your toolbar.

(3) Select 'Internet Options'

(4) Under the 'Programs' tab, click the 'Make Default' tab to make IE your default browser.

Alternatively on XP,

(1) Click 'Start'

(2) Click 'Set Program Access %26amp; Defaults'

(3) Expand the 'Custom' category

(4) Check 'Internet Explorer' under 'Choose a default web browser'

Keep the firefox browser though, surfing via firefox is much faster compared to IE =D

How Do I Delete Firefox and Again Make IE My Main Browser?internet explorer 7 internet explorer

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
I recommend that keep it for general surfing, but use Internet Explorer for known sites that require ActiveX. It is simply safer to do it that way. Of course, you an always set IE to be the Default browser.

But if you MUST, then open the Control Panel, and get into ADD/REMOVE programs and use the REMOVE button.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Html hidden field works in firefox but not IE?

I'm trying to remove this required 'terms%26amp;conditions' checkbox from a form and pass it as accepted by using a hidden field:

%26lt;input name="terms" id="terms" value="1" type="checkbox"%26gt;

%26lt;label for="terms"%26gt;I accept the %26lt;a href="terms.php" target="_blank"%26gt;terms %26amp; conditions%26lt;/a%26gt;%26lt;/label%26gt;

Commenting out the field and inserting the line below works in firefox, but I still get an alert in IE that says I haven't checked the box:

%26lt;input type="hidden" id="terms" name="terms" value="1" checked="true" /%26gt;

What code can I use that works in both browsers?

Thanks much!

Les

Html hidden field works in firefox but not IE?windows 2000

Okay, hidden fields are normally text fields and are intended to contain info you don't want the user to input. For example, here's one sample pulled from EchoEcho's tutorial site:

%26lt;div align="center"%26gt;

%26lt;input type="text" size="25" value="Enter your name here!"%26gt;

%26lt;input type="hidden" name="Language" value="English"%26gt;

%26lt;br%26gt;%26lt;br%26gt;

%26lt;/div%26gt;

So, that's probably issue one. Your trying to use checkboxes when hidden types are normally text. See if you can re-work your code to utilize a text box. If anything, simply have it contain either 'true' or 'false' depending on other input.

Hope this helps!

All your example garners is a problem, with two input elements having the same id. Just place the checked="checked" in the original (the first one you listed...) input element, and the "accepted" value will be checked unless the page viewer specifies otherwise...

Choose one of the following for the Moh . ie what is moh?

a. attraction of senses

b. attraction of someone's talent

c. attraction of someone's reputation , money , ........... ie non body items

d. all of the above

e. please give your opinion if not satisfied with above options ,also if possible then write the reference

Choose one of the following for the Moh . ie what is moh?windows registry

e. Bewilderment, perplexity, folly, delusion, error. In philosophy, delusion of mind, preventing the discernment of truth and leading to the belief in the reality of unreal worldly objects; closely similar to maya, but with an emphasis placed on the activity of the deceiving mind. It is like a kind of a sublimation of the senses. The mind drowns itself in delusion and infatuation. People believe in things that contradict reality. Moha can thus be described as a lack of awareness of the true nature of things, or of the true meaning of existence. Ignorant people are deluded by their senses-- among which intellect (discriminating, discursive thought) is included as a sixth sense.

Consciousness, attached to the senses, leads us into error by causing us to take the world of appearances for the world of reality, whereas in fact it is only a limited and fleeting aspect of reality.

In this context enters maya. Maya is the power that deludes. From where does this power come? It comes from Prakriti or Nature. Prakriti is the creation of God. First He creates Prakriti and then enters into it. And when He enters into it, He becomes enveloped with his own maya leading to his own delusion and bondage.

Choose one of the following for the Moh . ie what is moh?ie 6 internet explorer

my answer wud be D
MOH is (a) Attraction of senses.

MOH (means to become stupefied, to be bewildered or perplexed, to err, to be mistaken”) stands in ancient texts for perplexity or confusion as also for the cause of confusion, that is, avidya or ajnana (ignorance or illusion).

In another context, it stands for “the snare of worldly illusion, infatuation.” Its function is twofold: it bedims the discernment of truth, prevents the discernment of reality, and it creates an error of judgement or leads to wrong knowledge (mithya jnana). Men believe in an eternal reality of their own existence or ego; they see truth in what is false and seek happiness in what begets suffering.

Moh for maya, i.e. for this transient world of the senses, hinders the soul’s search for its ultimate goal and is, therefore, one of the Five Evils. It is related, on the one hand, to kam (desire, love) and lobh (possessiveness, covetousness) and, on the other, to ahankar (sense of I, my and mine). That is how moh has been referred to as a net, maiajal (GG, 266). Guru Nanak advises shedding of moh as it is the source of all evil and a cause for repeated births and deaths. (GG, 356).

The antidote to moh is non-attachment. This is not easy, for the Gurus preach active participation in life rather than renunciation and escapism. Ultimately, of course, all depends on nadar or God’s grace.-
"Moha" (Sanskrit) hass several meanings:-

error, wonder, affliction, folly,perplexity, magical voodoo,

loss of consciousness, prevention of truth by delusion, an illusory feeling of attachment, a self-deception of love.

In my opinion, in the spiritual conext of quest by an individual, the apt meaning of 'moha' would be 'an illusory feeling of attachment'. It may be towards other persons or material things, like a house, or land of ancestors, or a family heirloom etc.

The Nirvana shatkam 5th stanza refers to 'moh' towards others and charpata panjarika and dwadasha panjarika slokas "Moodha jahihi dhanaagama trishnaam" and "maa kuru dhana jana youvana garvam" deals with material things. All slokas are by Adi Shankaracharya.
Moh is attraction / addiction of senses /people ie a and b.

But Maya is the same towards materilastic things ie c.

Excessive Moh and Maya can lead to destruction, while excessive mamta leads to bhakti as in the case of Meera.
In spiritual context...any attraction of mind which takes us from our center is ...MOH !
In ignorance proceed towards death is known as moh
Answer is already there. Moh is Moha = attraction of senses

How do i hide the address bar in IE 7?ie 7 internet explorer

hitting F11 will make it disapear by putting it to full screen
You can't, but it will auto hide if you view IE7 in full screen. Just hit the F11 button on your keyboard. When you want it to go back to normal, hit that button again.
View-%26gt;toolbars-address bar. basically, click on it once, to uncheck it.
All the previous answers work. But here is a shortcut list for keyboard keys. It's a very handy thing to have for instance if you press windows logo and L you can hide the screen just click on your user name to restart / Or windows logo then U then U again and your PC will shut down no mouse needed. Enjoy it.

Is there any reason why a laptop will not connect to the internet using IE using a wireless network?

I have a Linksys wireless router that I use to connect all my computers to the internet. I have 2 PC's and 2 laptops. The PC鈥檚 are wired and the laptops are wireless. Up until I connected the laptops to the wireless router, they both worked fine both wired and at various places using wireless internet. Now one of the laptops will not connect to the internet. It says it is connected and shows it has signal but the only thing that works is Mozilla. IE, ITunes and Yahoo IM will not connect. When I try to use these programs, it gives me the error message that I am not connected to the internet. I spoke with a Linksys rep who took me through my settings for both my laptop and my router. They eventually told me that even though the problem started when I hooked up their router the problem is not with them. I tried reinstalling IE and that did not work. There are certain programs I need to access through the internet that only work with IE so only having Mozilla is not an option for me. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be?

While I don't have a direct solution to your problem(I'd probably have to look at your computer) I have a tip for you that could be a good workaround until you get the situation fixed. You can install an extension for firefox that lets it act like IE so anytime you get to one of those sites that require IE you just click the little icon in the corner of the browser and boom! instant IE tab. It works for me and its alot easier than messing with two browsers!

You can download it from download.com at this link: http://www.download.com/IE-Tab/3000-1174...

It's pretty useful...check it out!

turn off your windows firewall for a moment, after you get IE loaded up, turn your firewall back on. Also the other answer you got about intenet options should work as well, or maybe both.
You need to change your settings:

1.Click the tools button

2.Click Internet Options...

3.Click Privacy

4.Change It to Medium High

5.Click Apply then OK

How do you open a word/txt doc by itself from IE?

I know how to create a link using HTML that would enable me to open a word or text document that resides on my hard drive. (using the target as _blank). However when I click the link to open the doc, I get a dialogue box asking me if I want to "open"/"save"/"cancel". When I click "open", it will successfully open the doc in a IE window, and thats the problem. I need some experts here to tell me how I can use HTML or javascript so the word doc DOES NOT open in a IE window, and also if there is a way to avoid the dialogue box asking me if I want to open, save or cancel.

How do you open a word/txt doc by itself from IE?windows xp themes

When your server sends out the requested MS-Word doc, it sends a header along with it to indicate the type of file that the web server believes it to be.

Most web servers are configured to send a .doc with the header:

Content-type: application/msword

If you end up seeing the MS-Word document inside of IE, the problem is not with your webserver but with your *client* (in this case, IE itself). IE has been configured to accept the above content-type and has been told (by you or MS or your IT peoples) that IE can render the document itself.

See the URL below as an attempt to describe what is going on. But the answer is simply to modify IE's setting. I'm not an IE guru, but I believe the setting you want to change or disable is in:

Tools -%26gt; Internet Options -%26gt; Programs -%26gt; Manage Add-ons...

Hopefully, if this is the wrong place, someone will correct me.

How do you open a word/txt doc by itself from IE?download windows media player internet explorer

jsut change the format of the doc to html
You can link to a text file the same way you link to html files, you must be sharing files with the internet in order for the link to work. Internet Explorer won't open word files, they have to be saved as .txt or .html
There is no way to prevent this behavior with HTML. The web client (Internet Explorer in this case) is programmed to do what you see: give you an option and carry it out.

Install an update is not an answer to "how can I find the update"...

I have the same problem. My IE does not work either. I've tried looking on the Microsoft support site, but didn't find a direct solution. One important detail you left out of your question is what version of Windows you are using.

This might be a solution...

Go to Microsoft.com and find your update

I would reinstall IE
IE sometims plays up for me too and i found that downloading Netscape and using that as my browser instead helps.

you might be hacked or have a virus. i would double check cause they can cause those types of errors.
leave IE and install Mozilla Firefox. is better and is free, you have same option and more then on IE. and you can have both on same PC.

I think that the problem is with this in your style sheet

DIV.content

{

LEFT: 10px;

WIDTH: 550px;

BORDER-BOTTOM: #b9d6d7 3px solid;

POSITION: absolute;

TOP: 470px

}

The "POSITION: absolute;" could be causing the problem.

use "MARGIN-LEFT: 10px;" instead of specifying the

LEFT and TOP positions, and delete the "POSITION: absolute;". That would be my first try, but I have not really looked into your code very much.
div.content {

border-bottom: 3px solid #b9d6d7;

margin-left: 10px;

width: 550px;

margin-bottom: 30px

}

div.menu {

border-bottom : 5px solid #b9d6d7;

float: right;

position: relative;

right: 60px;

width :210px;

}

As for the IE issues. That should take care of it. If not, then do a conditional comment and make separate IE stylesheets.

the way resources,power and status has been distributed unjustly and eligitimitely tend to have people identify with each other, and group ie; based on religion, race, gender,etc; in order to fight for the resources. so resources,money, economy is the reason and the foundation. when changes happen to the foundation, it will necessarily influence or move what ever is on the surface, but the other way, or the opposite way will not be true. for an obvious reason the public media like us to believe that reasons for wars are ie; religion, political beliefs,etc. public media is owned by those who are themselves the cause for wars. lets think about it rationally and don't fall for all the lies, it is crystal clear. it is a fact.

hey, my name is airman yonts im a member of the united states air force. when people say that the war in iraq is religious they are only partly correct. it does have alot to do with the fact that they attacked us and that we use their resources. its called religious based on the fact that, in belief of the afgans, for them to get to there "heaven" they must terminate and infedel wich in this case is americans.
it's always about the money in the end
Its because they dont want to face the fact that its our fault the world is the way it is.They just wont admit it!
Most of the wars in the history of the world have been over religion..... Everyone thinks their god is the only true god.

Including the current fiasco in Iraq - or haven't you heard that Bush gets his war plan directly from his god......

It is full of bugs. I'm glad I didn't download it. Maybe you can go in and unload it.
Yeah .......stop using it.....
No, MS is notorious for releasing products that don't work. For now till it's more stable go to start-%26gt;control panel-%26gt;add remove programs-%26gt;at the top check "show updates",-%26gt;scroll down in the list-%26gt;you will see IE7 listed, uninstall that, restart and you will be back at IE6. Then download Firefox and stop using IE to browse the internet. When you go online just open Firefox %26amp; not IE. If your internet provider only works with IE... fine... fire it up with IE %26amp; then minimize IE %26amp; open Firefox to surf. Firefox is way safer to surf with than IE %26amp; gives you a minimal browser to start with %26amp; you can add the extensions you want to customize it to how you surf.... Not the tools and options IE thinks you want.

You might just find that you'll never want to bother with IE again. In fact you can get rid of it all together.
i use ie7, "have had some problems" minor, go to HTTP://safety.live.com

it is the microsoft site, they WILL repair any microsoft problem, free.

You cant uninstal it sorry. Its also not full of bugs. Everything has bugs even firefox. Its something wrong with your computer because i have been using it since the beta with no problems.

Yahoo Mail Beta loading problems only when using IE 7 not Firefox?windows 98

SWITCHING BACK TO YAHOO CLASSIC

If using the New Mail (Beta) switch back to Classic Mail, also called Opting Out. There are still bugs in the New Yahoo Mail, it's a creation in progress. This the direct link: http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... .

You can also get there by clicking the "Having Trouble Logging In?" button, top center of the New Yahoo Mail (Beta) page which also includes a number of other helpful tools. This links seems OT only appear if the page is not loading correctly. Remember the New Yahoo Mail (Beta) is a work in progress and you have no money invested in it if using the free version.

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SWITCHING BACK TO CLASSIC

Many are having problems with the New Yahoo Mail, most problems are do to improper configuration of the browser so check here first; Common issues; http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya...

Troubleshoot Browser: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya...

Why won't this site display correctly in IE?

Displays perfectly in Firefox, but Iframe is messed up in IE.

http://www.duluth.com

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Why won't this site display correctly in IE?windows firewall

IE handles some style sheet properties differently than Firefox does. Word on the street is that Firefox is more standards compliant than IE and adheres to stricter design rules. While IE tries to adjust for some abnormalities, it falls short on some items that matter most.

Why won't this site display correctly in IE?microsoft frontpage internet explorer

I'd start by fixing the machine detectable syntax errors. Different browsers recover from error in different ways, it is better to avoid producing errors that they have to recover from in the first place.

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3...
Get rid of the iframe and use a div with styling that will give the div an overflow with a scrollbar.

HTML:

%26lt;div id="textarea"%26gt;

CODE

%26lt;/div%26gt;

CSS:

#textarea {

overflow: auto; ("scroll" will work as well)

}

IE handles styling differently. Very differently. The rendering engine is the supreme work of Micro$oft and it's brilliant core of engineers that know nothing about web standards or the box model.

Firefox does adhere to web standards nicely, but Opera is the browser that stick to web standards more than Firefox does. Both browsers are great.

The way to fix it is to use a conditional comment

%26lt;!--[if lte IE 7]%26gt;

%26lt;link rel="stylesheet" href="IEbugs.css" type="text/css" /%26gt;

%26lt;![endif]--%26gt;

etc. You can find a great article here: http://brucelawson.co.uk/index.php/2005/...

Everyone should be using this method and no longer using CSS hacks for their stylesheets. Using separate stylesheets for IE6 and IE7 as well as a main stylesheet for compliant browsers makes editing a debugging a lot easier and a lot less hair pulling. Trust me. I have been doing it for 1+ years now and it has simplified my life.
Although the problem is probably in your css being misinterpreted by IE. I would also clean up the HTML as well as it has 96 errors on that page in HTML according to the W3c.org validation tool.

After getting the HTML to validate I would then clean up the CSS to a validation level. Then I would isolate the errors in the display and if need be use conditional comments to correct the differences. I would test in IE6, IE7, Firefox at a minimum. I would also suggest having it tested in Safari as well.

It currently seems to show up fine in IE7 so your problem if it is not already fixed was probably with a lower version of IE.

Hope that helps

Is there a way -- in either Firefox or IE -- to tell the browser to continuously refresh a page?

I know some sites, like Yahoo! Sports box scores during live games, do it automatically - but is there any way to set IE or Firefox to do that on its own to any page?

Internet Explorer Toolbar frustration: how can I get IE 6 back if I never had it before?

My computer crashed and I had to restore my harddrive.. so I lost all the information on it. My computer was back to factory default settings. I had to reinstall all my programs including Internet Explorer and I automatically got the newest version (IE7). I was using 6 before and I hate this one - or rather the toolbar.

The possibilty of removing the program from the Control Panel isn't an option, because I have no prior program.

Anything I can do? Is there anyway I can get rid of the toolbar or get IE 6 back?

Internet Explorer Toolbar frustration: how can I get IE 6 back if I never had it before?windows xp service

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."

Click "Add or Remove Programs."

Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.

Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove."

Uninstall that,restart your PC and you are on IE6

Internet Explorer Toolbar frustration: how can I get IE 6 back if I never had it before?microsoft xp internet explorer

Just UN install it you will get IE6 back.
"Simply right-click anywhere on your Internet Explorer toolbar and the toolbar menu appears. The checked toolbars are currently displayed. To add a toolbar to the display, select the name of the toolbar. To remove a toolbar from the display, just reverse the procedure.

"Traditionalists, please note that Microsoft understands that you might like your standard toolbar the way it used to be. To return it to its pre-Internet Explorer 7 form, select Classic Menu, and the classic menu appears"
If you go to the little Settings button, then you can uncheck the buttons that you don't want. To make the whole thing just go away, then you can just delete it from the control panel -%26gt; add/remove programs (I think).
You can download Internet Explorer 6 and Service Pack 1 at the same time from this link.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/...

It isn't necessarily true that you will revert to IE6 if you uninstall IE7, if you never had 6 to begin with. Download this, uninstall IE7, then restart the computer, then install IE6. Once IE7 is gone, the IE7 toolbar will also be gone.

Click Settings under Search, and you can select any of these options as your default. If the search engine you want to use as your default is not listed, click "Find more providers".

I've deleted firefox, now Yahoo mail won't open in IE from messenger.?

My stepson persuaded me that Firefox would be a good idea as well as Internet Explorer.

Immediatly I noticed that some programmes would open in Firefox but no longer in IE (Yahoo mail, and profiles, accessed from Messenger friends list, as an example), and (to be honest) I didn't like Firefox.

So I asked my stepson, an IT technician, whether if I removed Firefox it would revert to IE as a default. He said yes.

I now cannot access Yahoo mail from Yahoo messenger friends list....

Has anyone got any idea's short of deleting and re-installing Yahoo?

I've deleted firefox, now Yahoo mail won't open in IE from messenger.?ies

You may not have to re-install yahoo at all. When you installed Firefox it probably set itself to be the default internet browser..which could explain why you can't open stuff anymore. To revert back to IE just go to Tools--%26gt;Internet Options--%26gt;click the Programs tab--%26gt; then hit the Make Default button.

Does anyone know about A) cure for allergies ie hayfever with a desentitising treament or B) allergy

Anyone know about a treament heard about with several drugs or alliergens to perminatly cure alliergies with are of the allergen.

Here is was risky before now safe.

Also about allergies to squid. Ie what could cause an effect like horrendous stomach aches nothing will cure... is that likly to lead to anaphalatis? Last time ended up in casualty with hrrendous stomach aches.

Does anyone know about A) cure for allergies ie hayfever with a desentitising treament or B) allergy to squidwindows mail

There is a form of desensitization therapy used to treat allergies. Typically, you see an immunologist, who will do a skin test. This test determines your most severe allergies. The immunologist will then send away to a special laboratory to have an injection prepared. These shots contain tiny amounts of the allergens to which you are most sensitive. They are given usually weekly or bi-weekly. There is no guarantee that these will cure allergies . . . they're not actually there to cure -- but to treat . . . so that your next encounter is less severe.

Allergies are a response by the body to something that it recognizes as foreign and harmful. Eosinophils and basophils are the blood cells responsible for allergies -- but, there are other chemicals in play -- you don't cure allergies . . . you ougrow them, or use medications to become less sensitive.

Anti-histamines block the histamine receptor. When the body recognizes an allergen -- it releases histamine -- this chemical binds with histamine receptors to try to expel the foreign substance -- runny nose, coughing, sneezing, wattery eyes . . . anti-histamines work by either preventing the release of the histamine, or by binding with the histamine receptors -- so that the histamine can't.

An allergy to squid could be an allergy to iodine -- most sea-fish are high in levels of iodine, and it is a moderately common allergen. Or, you could just be allergic to squid . . . or sensitive to it.

Any true allergic reaction has the potential to result in anaphalyxis. One can develop or diffuse an potentially life-threatening allergy without any notice . . . so, if there's a possiblility you're allergic to squid -- I'd avoid it, just to be safe.

i have very bad hatfever, should say hayfever, but it looks good! i get the whole trip, sneezing, wheezing, eyes running, nose bunged up solid, aching sinuses... oh dont i just love the summer... actually autumn is far worse as im more allergic to pollens and seeds... and i discovered kennalog.

its by prescription only, and you can only have one a year, although for many years i blagged two! within an hour or two, no more sneezes, or anything else... the effects last upto six months.

and all i know about squid is; dont fight a giant one. if you dont like squid, dont watch deepstar six...
Live in a plastic bubble that is squid proof ?
For Hayfever desensitisation:

http://home.clara.net/radcliffe/hayfever...

For food allergy in general:

http://home.clara.net/radcliffe/hayfever...
I had the desensitation shots like Brian talked about. It has now been 5 years since I have had any shots and I am still reaping the benefits. I had allergy shots for 9 years, 2 years after starting I could tell an improvement. After being on shots for 5 years, my ragweed allergy was almost nonexistant.

Can someone please explain the Structure of Army's to me (ie divsions, corps, etc)??

Really looking for a nice detailed answer for this, is a question I have had fro a LONG time and have not been able to answer.

After a good description of the general/average sizes of the different types of army formations (ie army, division, corps, battalion, etc) and the order in which exist (ie An army is made up of 10 divsions etc). And it is correct that an Army Group is just a collection of Army's for a specific task that can vary from size to size? Any other related information would be greately apprecaited - feel free to leave nice long answer it is what I want!

Can someone please explain the Structure of Army's to me (ie divsions, corps, etc)??windows server 2003

Yes i can!! here is a BASIC breakdown.

Team - 2 to 7

Squad - 8 to 10

Platton - 16 to 44

Company - 62 to 190

Battalion 300 to 1000

Brigade 3000 to 5000

Division 10,000 to 15000

Corps 20,000 to 45,000

now there are different terms used for different speacialties and different MOS's but thats the break down.

it could be broken down farther into,

2-4 teams make a squad,

3-4 squads make a platoon,

3-5 platoons make a company,

3-5 companys make a battaltion,

3-5 battalions make a brigade,

2-3 brigades make a division,

2-3 divisions make a corps.

marines are called the marine corps beucase there are only about 45,000 active duty marines and about another 20,000 in reserves. they are a sub unit of the navy so they can have smaller numbers.

the chain of comman comes from here aswell, you hear people say

im from 18th airborne cops, 101st ariborne division, 1/502nd, Alfa company 2nd platoon.

((im not and i dont know if those units are still active but thats an example))

but thats the chain of command. you run down the list backwards.

theres also the word "unit/group" which is a basic term used to describe any of those levels of troop numbers. they would say "my unit/group is moving out" which could mean anything from a platoon to a division. just the part they are tied to.

The army has 1,055,734 members including all reservists, national guardsmen, and active duty army personel. they have many divisions, so i couldnt tell you how many division and brigades etc. there are total but you can guess, tis a pritty big number haha.

does that answer everything for you?

Can someone please explain the Structure of Army's to me (ie divsions, corps, etc)??windows xp service internet explorer

This link does a pretty good job of explaining the US Army Order of Battle and other information you are looking for.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/a...

Otherwise, there are many websites that are similiar if you take the time to look. The term "Order of Battle" describes unit make-up and design. So if you want information on the 1st Armored Divisions order then do a search for '1st Armored Division Order of Battle' as an example. Also, the term "Table of Organization and Equipment" aka "TOE" or "TO%26amp;E" should also help you find specific information on specific unit composition.

Hope that helps.

--------------------

An Army Group falls somewhere between a Battalion and a Brigade in size. And is about 4 echelons *below* an Army, but usually supports a Division or a Corp or even higher echelons. Basically a catch-all term for a conglomeration of any combat support functions that support any echelon above a Division (if I got it right myself):

"A Group is a brigade-sized unit normally commanded by a Colonel. Combat service support brigades and groups are organized to control non-divisional units for corps and larger units. Engineer, air defense artillery, signal, aviation, military police, and transportation brigades are typical of such units. They may also be the building blocks of large unit support such as corps support commands and of combat support commands such as engineer commands. Divisions are supported by an organic brigade-sized support command of mixed combat service support battalions and companies."
In the infantry:

4 men make a fire team

3-5 fire teams make a squad

3-5 squads make a platoon

3-5 platoons make a company

3-5 companies make a battalion

3-5 battalions make a brigade

3-5 brigade make a division

3-5 divisions make a corps

3-5 corps make an army

Then I disabled my Zone Alarm, closed IE7 and reopened. The configuration page then opened properly and I was able to set the desired settings and save. After that, I was able to restore my homepage to my original and enable Zone Alarm. All is back to "normal" and I'm running IE7. I don't know if the third time was a charm, or disabling Zone Alarm was the answer.....good luck.

Try changing the hoempage again, and this time click apply and then save
I have same problem and cannot get it resolved I tried shutting down zone alarm and then changing home page but it still isnt working. I tried spybot but it still doing same thing!!!
ok - i figured it out. shut down my anti - virus.. spy ware... what ever you have shut it down. Then go to add/remove programs and un-install Win version 7. - Restart - when computer starts back up shut down your anti-spy ware what'ever you have (make your it is shut down or Win 7 will NOT install all the way and you will have the same problem as before!)

If a window does not already pop telling you you have new programs to install - go online and select updates form your help menu. It will find it for you -- install Win7.

All should be good now. The http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx page should come up and you can then customize your settings and you should never see it again!!

let me know if you have questions.

In the series Buffy the vampire Slayer . One character who was a bad guy was

'fixed'

With a chip in his head so when he went to hurt anyone it caused debilitatiing pain...

So thinking...

Could this not be done to all gang members of anyone found to be supporting gang culture in any way, to crack dealers, football thugs and any chavs who get violent on alcohol.

Ie any display of bullying, or machio preditory thinking for the feeling of pleasure from dominance?

Uh, that WAS fiction, you know. There's no way to really do this.

Labotomise? Remove testosterone?

How barbaric.

First, there's nothing stopping them from getting others to do their dirty work for them.

Besides, if you were really interested in solving this problem, you'd have a look at its causes -- lack of alternatives, for example.

I hope we never agains stoop to the sorts of things you mention.

There are a lot of former gang members who positively contribute to society -- including working with current gang members and those likeliest to become gang members, to convince them to not go that route.

Oh like the Ludiveco "cure" in A Clockwork Orange.
FLYING MICE will lay eggs in your bed for that one Dude. And rub marmalade into your private regions. I've heard there are plans for lasers in the CCTV cameras, for public discipline.
I would love Buffy to discipline me in any physical way she wanted she is just pure sex on legs. What a babe
They should get "mean old *****" chip first. Then maybe....
What is then considered as bad thoughts?

Will people then still be able to play violent videogames?

I think are way too many questions that first will need to be answered. And a chip in the brain isn't all that good, because opening the brain is always a risky situation.
It would be good if the chip could make you feel EXACTLY the same pain that you had chosen for your own victim. Like if you stab someone, then you felt the stabbing pain in your own body, and so on.....
I think the "Chip" was an exaggerated way of showing a conscience. Either you have one or you do not. Most of the former gang members and other rehabilitated criminals, who decide to devote their lives to helping youth, or others, have become Christians while either in prison, or during another crisis in their lives.

More people should think about how they would feel if the act you are performing, or are about to perform, on someone else, were performed on you.

Quit blaming society for your shortcomings.

You would have a very difficult time sending Username/Passwords to each site. Some sites you could include that info in the URL, like:

start iexplore.exe "http://username:password@www.google.co....

This works with FTP sites and very simple login on some sites. The site you have shown all use https for login, the date is encrypted and sent via the form POST method, so you can't see the data being sent. To automatically have you UN/PW info in the login page fields you would have to modify that page to have the values set to your input values.

To take that next step you're describing, you now run into considerable security issues... How to store your credentials securely and how to use them securely.

If you're working in a proper corporate network, not only are your security needs higher but the network should already be setup to manage that level of security for you.

So, for instance if you're in a Windows Domain, Active Directory is designed to store and manage many of your security requirements already (eg username/password, kerberos security, etc).

So, many companies have already built solutions that do what you want building on these resources which should already be available to you.

An example for someone who is a User in a Windows Domain is the following

http://www.ver3.com/

There are many others with varying costs but IIRC and if things haven't changed, Simple Sign-on made by ver3 is very reasonably priced.

Install, update, scan and remove anything they find.

Update and run your virus scanner http://free.grissoft.com if you need one.

Defrag the drive, reboot in normal mode and rescan to make sure you got it all.

Download and install all Windows updates when you are done. (Internet Explorer %26gt; Tools %26gt; Windows Updates)
u can block them by blocking all the popups thats it
I think the easiest solution for you would be to run an Anti-Spyware program - they are generally very good at removing this type of malware.

I've found Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy to be excellent (www.safer-networking.org) - it's relatively intuitive, and has a large database. Just be sure to download all the updates (it starts a wizard to walk you through this the first time you use it), then scan your system and delete everything it finds.

Hopefully that will solve your problem!

Believing in the wrong thing. Some things should not be tolerated, though tolerance is ok generally just as long the thing being tolerated is not destructive to freedom.
To each their own . . . but having no tolerance for other peoples' beliefs is a sign of ignorance. It shows an insecure person- insecure in their own faith and in themselves. Each person has the right to believe whatever they believe, as long as they don't impose their point of view on others, and as long as they aren't hurting anyone. As for 'wrong' beliefs, I'm just not sure there is such a thing because each person sees things differently. It's intolerant to say their beliefs are wrong. Just my two cents worth. :)

I think that people believe in particular things because those things fill particular needs in their lives. I don't judge these as being wrong so long as they don't involve infringing upon the free moral agency of others. Mg has a complete outer orbital, which is a very stable configuration. Al has a single electron in its outer p-orbital, which is easier to remove.

This is because the addition of a new shell in Al causes an increase in distance and electron shielding

Can no longer print Yahoo mail with Firefox - any easy or automated way to transfer my FF bookmarks

I'm tired of dealing with this annoying issue. It worked OK for nearly two years but sometime in the last few weeks or so I constantly have to go to IE to successfully print Yahoo mail. Looking for suggestions on getting all my Firefox bookmarks transferred to IE.

Really nothing you can do to transfer your bookmarks. You will have to do it manually.

Try this before going back to IE.

The latest Firefox always would crash on me when I visited my Yahoo! Mail. One possible reason is the bug caused by the stand alone Yahoo! Messenger application. The Yahoo! Application State plugin must be turned off for Y-mail to work properly.

Try the following:

(1)Type "about:plugins" in the Location Bar of your Firefox browser and press Enter. A list of installed plugins should come up.

(2)Look for "Yahoo! Application State" ("npYState.dll") in the installed plugins list.

(3)If the file is listed, close Firefox completely. Open the C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\shared folder then rename the file "npYState.dll" to "XnpYState.dll". This will disable the plugin.

Restart your browser and test your Y-mail. Good luck.

I've been online with Comcast, Linksys (cable modem), and Compact to no avail. At first I had no connectivity via my PC. I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and now can ping external sites. But IE and Firefox don't work. I still have DSL, and using the same cords and ethernet plug, I can connect via DSL. Plugging the ethernet cord into the cable modem, I can't connect. Comcast says they can see the modem and everything looks good from their end. The tech who installed the cable was able to connect with his laptop. Windows XP firewall is turned off. Have Spybot and AVG running for antivirus. Nothing running right now for firewall (I'm using my DSL until I can get cable running). I've tried connecting to my wireless router, and can't access the router via IE or Firefox. I've rebooted PC and cable modem dozens of times now. I can repair the network connection and it gets a good IP address per Comcast. I'm at a loss as to where to go from here. Any ideas?

This is basically a network stack problem. IE and Firefox are looking in the wrong place for the connection. The easiest fix is to delete your network adapters from the Hardware manager. (Sounds extreme but its not) Then reboot, let the system find your adapters and reinstall them.

Once that is done setup your connection and you should work.

Windows is the problem - it still looks for the old modem's interupt request. I would try to boot windows from the CD with the old modem detached and select repair if it offers that option.
